There are a bewildering number of choices out there. While by no means all-inclusive, these are the firearms in current production that I've used extensively, and belong on anyone's short list. They are all worthy of your consideration. I'm not including shotguns here, are they are extensively covered in many of the other over thirteen hundred articles on this site.

Slug Gun Savage 220

For deer hunters where centerfire rifles are not allowed, or for hogs up to black bear with the right bullet, the Savage 220 has been a winner since its inception.

9mm Handgun SIG Sauer P365

I think it is the best concealed carry 9mm out there, but of course you might prefer a particular Glock or S&W instead,

Rimfire Handgun S&W SW22 Victory

The SW22 finally retired my Ruger .22 semi-autos: it is that good.
