Savage Arms Announces 2012 10ML-II Muzzleloader Production

The 2012 Savage 10ML-II features the new Savage PAD recoil pad, jeweled bolt, Accu-Trigger, quiet three-position safety, 100% factory proof-tested and hand-straightened barrels, the new 3/8 in. socket head breechplug, and factory installed fiber-optic sights. Sling studs are included and installed, and all Savage 10ML-II's are drilled and tapped for the standard Savage short-action bases.

Today I was informed by Brian Herrick, Vice-President of Savage Arms, that due to the continued demand for their 10ML-II as expressed by their distributors, Savage Arms will continue 10ML-II production for 2012. This is the 12th consecutive year of production for the Savage 10ML series. As in 2011, 4140 Chrome-Moly models are being offered. There are no current plans to offer stainless. There is a price increase over 2011 of three percent. 4140 Chrome Moly carbon steel is the same material as used in Savage Arms centerfires. As the Savage 10ML-II is designed to run on clean, essentially non-corrosive smokeless powder (as precisely listed in the factory owner's manual) stainless steel is of no great benefit.

Savage Arms has encouraged their distributors and dealers to place one order for delivery this year. I'll be accepting orders through the end of January, 2012 only, for June, 2012 delivery. See http://randywakeman.com/savage0.htm for details. Subject to any restrictions by state or local law, the 2012 10ML-II is $670 delivered to your door in the lower 48 states.

I'm personally delighted that the “World's Greatest Muzzleloader” continues its epic run. The 10ML-II is the only mass-produced muzzleloader ever made that is built like a real rifle, the Savage way: with pillar bedding, the Accu-Trigger, and a recoil lug . . . just like the finest bolt-action rifles. All made from certified materials, hand-straighted barrels, and all 100% proof-fired and function-fired before they leave the Westfield, Mass., factory.
